Smart water management in the Netherlands
In the Netherlands, we have a large number of weirs and inlets to properly manage and regulate water levels. Dutch water management is rightly renowned worldwide. However, a significant portion of these water infrastructure elements is still not automated. That means opening and closing inlets and weirs remains a manual task – a time-consuming job, despite the fact that factors like rainfall and high water levels are perfectly measurable and can be automated. In short, there is great potential for smart water management.
Emission-free, remote-controlled water management system
The Sun Control-21 is emission-free, meaning it releases no harmful substances. It operates entirely on solar energy and aligns with the ambitious sustainability goals of the water sector. These include striving for energy neutrality by 2025 and a circular economy by 2050. Products like the Sun Control-21 are therefore essential for the future of sustainable water management.

Controlling water with solar power
Continuity and reliability are key factors in effective water management. The combination of modern challenges and the need for reliable, smart automation led us to an answer powered by the sun. The Sun Control-21 features a single solar panel, which powers and charges the system. Its maintenance-free batteries can provide autonomous energy for approximately three weeks, even without sunlight.
More flexible and improved water control
Although the Sun Control-21 operates autonomously and remotely, everything is monitored centrally and in real-time from the control center. This ensures both strong oversight and flexible water regulation. In every respect, the Sun Control-21 meets both today’s demands and tomorrow’s expectations.
